Review

After everything was pieced together, we were quite pleased
With the overall work. We agreed that the original rap song Royal Rap
Was the best choice for us to do as there’s more freedom for us to
Move with and control.
We carried our use of humor and musical creativity throughout the
Project and resulted with this performance.

Develop & Realise

We developed our idea through the want to make an original piece of music, but also enjoy the process and have a good time with it. So, this resulted in the desire for a humorous song with musical capabilities tied in. Zac and I have knowledge of performing and musical arts, so we used our abilities as an advantage for this project and this resulted in the Royal Rap. We developed the idea by discussing what we could work with, we agreed that Zac would write the lyrics and I would make the soundtrack. After realising what we had to do, the choices of how to create a soundtrack to fit with the finished lyrics was tricky, we tried a large range of tracks from the EMI instruments to royalty free music online. After choosing what we wanted, I created a simple but effective beat to play for the song. Creating the entire track was tricky as there were many technical difficulties with the programs I was trying to use (Cubase and Acid Xpress).

The final decision for what we are doing for the extended project is called the Royal Rap.


Proposal:

Title or working title of project The Royal Rap Project objectives To create an original piece of music with humorous lyircs and a catchy soundtrack.  If it is a group project, what will your responsibilities be?  My responsibilities within the group is to create the soundtrack and edit the entire product then export the final project.
Section Two: Reasons for choosing this project
Reasons for choosing the project (eg, links to other subjects you are studying, personal interest, future plans, knowledge/skills you want to improve, why the topic is important):  Our reason for choosing this objective for the project is that we are both musically creative and have the same sense of humor, resulting in us wanting to make a parody style song.
Section Three: Activities and timescales
Activities to be carried out during the project (eg, research, analysis, writing, preparing for the presentation, etc): Researching into other parody makers and song styles. Practising with Zac and creating the lyrics and soundtrack. Editing the entire production Exporting and uploading the final product	How long this will take:  2 months  3 months 1 month 1 month
Section Four: Resources
What resources will you need for your research, write up and presentation (eg, libraries, books, journals, equipment): To research we will use YouTube and online articles to look up parody song makers. For the presentation we will put together all of our production's work and create an informative presentation.

We're managing our use of time by working together with our ideas, contributing different creative musical attributes towards this project. We're going to finish off each piece, him with the lyrics and myself with the soundtrack to go with it. On Friday the 16th we will go and rehearse the entire thing together, fine tuning each part of the soundtrack if we are unhappy with it at any stage and making the lyrics fit nicely with it, again altering any parts of the lyrics if they don't quite sound right. Once everything is in order we will be ready to present on Tuesday the 20th.

Use of rescources

For the Royal Rap we will use a ZOOM H2 to recod Zac's lyrics as a basis to look back on and improvise. For the soundtrack I will use Acid Xpress 7, a musical program for creating songs with tracks from EMI. On Friday the 16th we will combine the two and playback, then do some editing to the soundtrack if need be and change some lyrics if need be. We will have the project ready for Tuesday the 20th.

We looked at other comical original songs popular on YouTube and decided to run with a fast paced type of lyrical pattern.
We looked at some examples of NicePeter's Epic Rap Battles of History, some of Weird Al Yankovich, and other artists known for their parodies and original comical songs.

CHANGE OF PLAN

So, Zac and I have reverted back to our original idea in this late of a stage, and have decided to roll with the plan of creating an original piece of music, him writing the lyrics and me producing the soundtrack. We will have this entirely done for next week's performance on Friday the 16th of March.
